Ozilas: "Real" hopes to win the Spanish championship © EuroFootball.com

Madrid's defender Mesut Ozil still hasn't lost hope of becoming the Spanish champion for the first time this season.

At the moment, the capital club is seven points behind the leader, Barcelona.

Speaking about life in Spain, the German said: "Everything is going well for me, but I haven't achieved anything yet. I came here to improve, so I'm still growing as a footballer. I have a lot more to prove."

"We are playing really well. We have a great youth academy, a strong first team, and things are going quite well for us."

Talking about the upcoming match against Hercules, Ozil insisted: "It won't be easy. However, our goal is just one - three points. The season is long, so we hope to win the Spanish championship."
