The Swiss Football Federation announced on its official website that it has extended the contract with the national team coach Ottmar Hitzfeld for two more years.
The 62-year-old specialist's previous contract was valid until 2012.
The German, considered one of the best strategists on the Old Continent, has twice won the prestigious UEFA Champions League tournament - in 1997 with Borussia Dortmund and in 2001 with Bayern Munich.
Hitzfeld took over as the coach of the Swiss national team in 2008.
