On Sunday, in the 26th round of the German Bundesliga championship, Leverkusen's Bayer footballers fought for an important victory and solidified their position in second place in the tournament table.
Juppo Heynckes' players won away with a minimal result of 1-0 against "Mainz" and reduced the gap from the leading Dortmund's "Borussia" club to nine points.
The only goal of the match was scored in the 82nd minute by Renato Augusto, who cleverly took the ball and defeated the opponents' goalkeeper with a strong shot from outside the penalty area.
The match between Hamburg's "St. Pauli" and "Stuttgart" ended with a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
