The German Football Federation has signed a new contract with Joachim Low, under which the specialist will lead the national team until 2014. The previous contract would have expired after the 2012 European Championship. Along with Low, his assistant Hansi Flick, goalkeeper coach Andreas Koepke, and manager Oliver Bierhoff will remain in the team. "I am happy that we have agreed on everything so early," Low said, adding that the negotiations lasted only a couple of days. The 51-year-old coach took over the national team from Jurgen Klinsmann after the 2006 World Cup. Under his leadership, the national team reached the final of the 2008 European Championship and secured third place in last year's World Cup in South Africa.
