Wayne Rooney denies rumors of a conflict with coach Sir Alex Ferguson and insists that he has no intention of leaving the club.
There have been reports suggesting that Ferguson was willing to sell the Englishman due to his inconsistent form and a surprising request to leave the team last autumn.
However, Rooney insisted that his relationship with the coach remained as strong as ever.
"There are no problems in my relationship with Ferguson," Rooney said. "I enjoy playing here and if I planned to leave in the summer, I wouldn't have signed a new contract."
"On Sunday, I was driving home from training and stopped to refuel. A few people approached me and asked if I would be leaving in the summer. I don't know where these rumors came from, but I will be here for a long time."
