London strategist Arsene Wenger has confirmed that goalkeeper Jens Lehmann is training with the team and will soon put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season.

The 41-year-old footballer retired last summer, representing the "Stuttgart" team in his last two seasons.

Prior to that - from 2003 to 2008 - he played 199 matches wearing the "Arsenal" shirt.

The capital team asked for his help due to a goalkeeper injury crisis - Wojvciech Szczesny, Lukasz Fabianski, and Vito Mannone all dropped out of the lineup, leaving only the Spaniard Manuel Almunia available to take the field.

"We lack goalkeepers for the English championship, so we decided to bring Jens back. The contract is not signed yet, but the terms have already been agreed," said Wenger.
