Sports director Giuseppe Marotta explained why the club ended negotiations with the "Sao Paulo" team for the super talent Lucas Piazono.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who is currently considered the most promising Brazilian footballer, recently arrived in Turin and watched "the old lady's" match and gave interviews to Italian newspapers.

During his visit, the Brazilian did not hide his desire to wear the "Juventus" jersey.

The Turin club received a lot of criticism when it became known that London's club had agreed with the Brazilian club on Piazono's ransom, which amounts to more than 5 million euros.

Today it was revealed why "Juventus" ended negotiations with "Sao Paulo". It turns out that the club's management did not agree to pay a salary of one million euros per year, which the English club offered, even though the Brazilian had not yet proven that he was worth such an amount.

"We can only be glad that we did not agree to the conditions set by Piazono," Marotta explained.

"It would be unethical to pay a million euros to a 17-year-old kid. What would other young players, who would play with him, think? After all, most of them do not even have a professional contract."

"Hypocrites are those who say that footballers currently earn astronomical salaries, but at the same time throw stones at our garden because of Piazono," emphasized the Juventus sports director.
