After the victory in the Italian championship match against "Brescia" footballers, goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon urges his team to finish the season on a good note.
The "Old Lady" still has 8 matches left in the "Serie A" championship. The Turin team has decent chances to secure a spot in next year's UEFA Europa League tournament.
"Now we need to focus to the maximum on the remaining championship matches. In the remaining 8 games, we must perform as best as we can and secure the highest possible position in the standings," explained Buffon.
"My future? There are more important matters at hand now than discussions about the transfer market."
The battle for the Italian champions title is more open than ever. Four teams can win the "Scudetto." At the beginning of this year, it seemed that "Juventus" could be one of them, but a series of setbacks shattered all the club's plans. Still, Buffon urges not to look back.
"Now is not the time for regrets. We must only think about ourselves and strive to finish the season as successfully as possible."
Buffon was called up to represent the Italian national football team, which is facing 2012 European Championship qualifying matches against Slovenia.
"We hope to achieve a victory against Slovenia to continue the fight for qualification to the European Championship," said Buffon.
