The 27-year-old footballer has represented the team throughout his ten-year career and is a favorite of the fans. However, in recent years, fans have criticized De Rossi's occasional outbursts more harshly than before.
"Something is changing here in Rome," said the midfielder. "In the last year and a half, all the news that made me proud came from outside, not from here.
"I don't want to play the victim, I don't want people to come and say how wonderful I am. The wound will heal on its own," the Italian explained vaguely.
It is said that the midfielder, whose contract with Roma will expire next year, would like to be acquired by Real Madrid and Manchester United.
