Coach of the Polish national team: "Please support the team with chants, not get into fights" © EuroFootball.com

Poland's national team strategist F. Smuda, whose pupils will not have official matches until 2012 because they will host the 2012 European Championship, said that in a friendly match against Lithuanians they will play as if for points.

"I consider the Lithuanian national team a strong opponent. We want to win, so we will play for three points. I couldn't single out any special players. What advice would I give to the Lithuanians for the game against Spain? I think their coach knows that best. In the first game, the Lithuanians played evenly for one and a half quarters. Of course, Lithuania cannot be compared to the Spanish national team," the coach pondered.

When asked about the quality of the pitch by Polish journalists, F. Smuda did not emphasize this factor. "A year ago, when we played a friendly match in Warsaw against Bulgaria, it was also difficult. However, the pitch is the same for both teams."

The coach expressed hope that the Polish national team's fans will not cause unrest and will demonstrate their positive abilities by supporting the team: "Together with the whole team, we hope that there will be no incidents. I ask the fans to support the team with chants, not by getting into fights."

In the Polish team, striker Ireneusz Jelen from the "Auxerre" club (France) will be missing due to an injury and he has gone home for examinations. The Polish press predicts that the team will play with the lone emphasized striker, Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund (Germany).
