Next season, the Munich club will be trained by Jupp Heynckes, replacing Louis van Gaal who will leave in the summer.

Dutch van Gaal confirmed a few weeks ago that he would be stepping down from his duties, so the team managers were looking for his replacement.

Heynckes was immediately named as the main contender, currently leading Leverkusen's Bayer and will remain in his position until the end of the season, then signing a two-year contract with Bayern.

"Heynckes was our primary candidate," said one of the Munich club's managers, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "So we are very happy that we have agreed on a two-year contract."

The former famous footballer has already worked for the Bayern team during his career from 1987-1991, as well as in 2009, when he temporarily replaced the dismissed Jurgen Klinsmann for five matches.
