Before the friendly match between the national teams of Lithuania and Poland, the visiting hooligans not only fought with the police officers, but also among themselves.
Fans of different Polish clubs, who have never maintained friendly relations, rarely get along even when supporting the national team.
"The sight was terrible. Just a few meters from the entrance to the building, groups clashed. It seemed to me that ultras from Bialystok's "Jagiellonia" and Krakow's "Cracovia" were in conflict," said a representative of the Polish Football Association to "Gazeta Wyborcza."
Lithuanian medics and police confirmed that one bloody Pole was taken out of the stadium. According to the publication, he was a fan of "Cracovia."
There were also no shortage of flags insulting the Polish football leaders and minor conflicts with the stewards in the stands. Despite the use of pyrotechnics, more serious incidents were avoided.
