During the European Championship qualifying tournament match on Friday evening, Lithuania's future national team opponent Spain, after a fierce battle, defeated Czech Republic 2-1 at home and solidified their position at the top of the tournament table.
Although the Czechs took the lead with a fantastic goal by Jaroslav Plašil in the first half, David Villa equalized with a shot from 17 meters in the 69th minute after deceiving the defender, and shortly after, he converted a penalty kick from 11 meters to snatch the victory from the planet champions.
Vicente Del Bosque's players have so far won all four matches and occupy first place in the tournament table with 12 points. The Czechs (6 pts) who have played the same number of matches are in second place, followed by the Scots (4 pts), Lithuania, who have taken the field three times and managed to get 4 points, and lastly, Lichtenstein, who has lost all three matches.
It is worth noting that Scotland and the Czech Republic have already defeated the absolute underdogs of Liechtenstein's team once, while Lithuania still has two matches to play against them.
