General manager of the German national team Oliver Bierhoff says that his country will challenge powerful Spain in next year's European championship.
Last summer, Germany lost to the Spanish in the semi-finals of the global tournament.
According to Bierhoff: "The players are technically and physically better prepared. In addition, maybe next year Spanish clubs will be successful again, so the players will be a bit tired, a bit older."
Both Germany and Spain have won all five matches so far in the qualifying tournament and are firmly at the top of their groups.
