Barcelona Coach Guardiola: I would have said 60-0 © EuroFootball.com

The head coach of the Catalonia club, Josep Guardiola, believes that the president should avoid controversial comments in public.

This week, the president Sandro Rosell, who participated in a charity event, was asked by journalists who would win the final of the Spanish King's Cup tournament ("Copa del Rey"), in which the eternal rivals "Barcelona" and Madrid will face each other. In response, the Catalonia leader said: "We will win 5-0, we must stick to tradition."

The mentioned numbers were a clear reference to the first "El Clasico" match of the season, which "Barcelona" impressively won at home by a result of 5-0.

Guardiola did not like Rosell's statement, and he expressed his opinion at a press conference before the match against "Villarreal."

"I would have guessed we would win 60-0. The more, the better," the coach smiled. "Seriously, I wouldn't have spoken like that. I understand that the president attended a charity event and wanted to uplift the participants, but it's impossible to win in the final against 'Real' by a result of 5-0."

However, Guardiola also pointed out that everyone has the right to express their opinion, but he stated that any "winged" phrases could have undesirable consequences.

"I admit that the president has more experience in leadership and I have no doubt about his abilities. 'Barcelona' never 'makes a show out of rivals' when they crush them. In the end, we always congratulate our opponents if they happen to be stronger than us," Guardiola noted.
