Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain hopes to take the field in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final match against London's Tottenham.

The Argentine underwent back surgery in January, but his recovery was much shorter than expected - the footballer already played in a match last weekend.

"It is a wonderful feeling to be in the quarter-finals, and even more so - knowing that I have recovered from injury," said Higuain. "It is very important that I can help the team on the field.

"Many people said that I would not play this season. However, thank God, I am here ready to take the field."

And he added: "We face a huge challenge. We will try to win at home and defend the advantage we gained in London."
