"Real Madrid strategist Jose Mourinho claims that a 4-0 victory in the first Champions League quarter-final match against London's Tottenham does not guarantee a ticket to the next stage.
The Spanish team crushed the English team at home, who played without Peter Crouch being sent off from the field from the 15th minute.
"I know very well that at this level it is practically impossible to play with a man less for so long," said the Portuguese. "But I know the English mentality and understanding of football, so the fight is not over yet.
"It's a shame, but the match 11 against 11 would have been better. The opponents had no other choice but to defend themselves, and in London they will try to retaliate."
And he added: "We did not reach the semifinals - after all, once Real won 4-2 at home in the quarterfinals but eventually got knocked out. I think it was against Monaco."
