Wayne Rooney's appeal was not successful, so the forward will be suspended for two matches.

The England national team member will miss the English championship match against London's Fulham and the FA Cup semi-final match against Man City because after scoring a goal against West Ham on Saturday, he swore directly into a television camera.

Rooney admitted that he deserved the punishment but opposed its severity: "It doesn't seem fair to me. I'm not the first or the last player to swear."

"Unlike many others, I immediately apologized. And still, I am the only person who will miss two matches, one of which is a semi-final.

He added: "However it may be, I have to accept it and move on."
