The ambitious Donetsk announced on Wednesday the acquisition of two Brazilians - Jadson Rodrigues da Silva and Ivan Saraiva de Souza from the club "Atletico Paranaense", who are the vice-champions of Ukraine.
The 21-year-old forward Jadson, who scored 15 goals in 40 matches for "Atletico" in 2004, is highly valued in his homeland and therefore "Shakhtar" had to pay 5 million euros for him. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old defender Ivan is currently on loan, but Donetsk club has the option to buy him in the summer.
Recently, "Shakhtar" also acquired another player from South America. Paraguay national team defender Pedro Juan Benitez moved to Ukraine from "Cerro Porteno" for 1.7 million euros. The 23-year-old footballer signed a five-year contract.
By the way, in the team coached by Mircea Lucescu, three Brazilians are already playing - Joao Batista Marques, Brandao, and Matuzalem. It is believed that for the latter, "Shakhtar" paid a record amount of 15 million euros to the "Brescia" club last summer.
