"Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness did not spare sharp words for the dismissed head coach Louis van Gaal on Sunday.
According to one club official, the Dutchman constantly spoiled the mood of the players on purpose, leading to a deteriorating overall atmosphere.
"Success is one thing, pleasure is another, but it hasn't been fun in the team for a very long time," said Hoeness. "Rumors that the players supported the strategist - nonsense."
Hoeness criticized the decision to acquire experienced goalkeeper Thomas Kraft in January, who replaced Hans Joerg Butt.
"The whole nonsense started by benching Butt," he said. "The management constantly urged van Gaal not to do that, but the Dutchman did not listen. Louis didn't learn from it, which led to chaos in defense."
