UEFA is appealing the proposal to give security guard Andres Iniesta an additional one-match suspension for provoking a yellow card.
If the penalty is upheld, the Spaniard would miss the first Champions League semi-final match in Madrid against Real.
Iniesta was cautioned in the first leg of the quarter-final against Shakhtar Donetsk for not obeying the referee's request to move away from the ball. It is speculated that he did it intentionally, as he missed a crucial second leg due to accumulated cards, but entered the semi-final without any disciplinary issues.
Barcelona hopes that UEFA will not impose additional sanctions and Iniesta will be able to play in the Spanish capital on April 27.
