Team captain Nemanja Vidic said he would like to stay with the 'Red Devils' until the end of his professional football career.
The Serbian star has been linked with moves to Spanish and Italian clubs multiple times, but at the beginning of this season he signed a new contract with "Man Utd," denying all rumors. Later becoming the captain of "United," the defender revealed that he wants to stay with the team at Old Trafford until the end of his life.
"I hope to stay with the 'Man Utd' team until the end of my career," said Vidic to the "Sunday Mirror." "I have heard rumors of a possible departure last summer, but I know where I want to be and I have shown my commitment to the club."
"I have spent the best years of my career here, and speculations about my departure were never true," continued the footballer. "Without a doubt, I will be here until the end of my career. No one has ever heard me say that I will leave. I love this club and prove it on the field."
The 29-year-old footballer was given the captain's armband at the start of the season and Vidic was satisfied with his new role in the team.
"The coach told me I would be captain," said the player. "Then after a few matches, he said it would be so for the whole season. It was good news. Being a captain is a great honor and I am enjoying it."
