London's captain Cesc Fabregas took the blame for the Champions League round of 16 defeat for the team.
The "Gunners" won the first leg at home 2-1, but in the return match they had to admit their opponents' superiority with a 1-3 defeat and withdrew from the tournament.
The 23-year-old footballer suffered an injury at the beginning of the match, but continued the game and was partly to blame for the first goal scored by the Catalans, when he made an inaccurate pass right in front of his penalty area.
"The return leg was one of the most important in my career," Fabregas spoke, having arrived at "Arsenal" from the Catalan team. "I returned to Barcelona as the captain of Arsenal, we had the advantage, I played against my family and friends in the stands.
Expectations were high, but it all ended in tragedy and I am to blame for it. I think I have to take about 70 percent of the blame for our elimination. In the 14th minute of the match, I got injured and everything collapsed before my eyes, as I saw that only a third of the first half had been played.
I told myself not to give up, because if I had withdrawn, people would say I didn't want to play. But I was disappointed in myself. I wanted to fight and didn't think about the team's interests. I was selfish and had to pay a big price for it: I didn't play well and we lost."
