The sporting director of Juventus, Giuseppe Marotta, gave an interview to the news agency "Sky Sport Italia", where he shared his thoughts on the upcoming summer transfer market.
Marotta abstractly answered the first question about the future of Juventus head coach Luigi Delneri and at the same time denied rumors that Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri is one of the contenders for Delneri's position.
"After the season, we will weigh up all the pros and cons, and then, having drawn conclusions, we will decide whether Delneri will stay or not," Marotta began.
"Walter and I are friends, but he has a contract and De Laurentiis (Napoli owner) claims that Mazzarri will remain at the club for at least another two years."
Last year we opened a new chapter in the club's history. The foundation is laid, and now it's time to raise the team's level and buy two or three top-class players.
Recently, reports in the Italian press have stated that Juventus will seek to acquire Brazilian club Santos star Neymar or Manchester City's attacking leader Carlos Tevez.
"They are champions. However, let's be realistic and look at it from a financial perspective. Tevez plays for City - one of the richest clubs in the world. Neymar is a Brazilian gem, whom all the major European clubs would like to see in their ranks. I know that Chelsea has already put money on the table."
When asked about Juventus defender Alberto Aquilani's future, Marotta replied: "Aquilani has proven to be an exceptional player. Yes, it's true that his buyout clause is not acceptable to us, but we will try to negotiate with Liverpool."
At the end of the interview, Marotta confirmed that the club will extend the contract with striker Alessandro Del Piero and has no intention of selling the main team goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
"Club president Andrea Agnelli spoke with Del Piero and they reached an agreement on everything. It's just a formality.
As for Buffon, I can say this: we are not the club that sells its best players to make money. Buffon was voted the best goalkeeper of the past decade. We aim to bring Juventus back to football Olympus, so we didn't even consider selling Buffon," Marotta affirmed.
