In the "Premier League" of England, two matches were played on Wednesday evening.
The hopes of London's "Arsenal" to regain the title of England champions after a long break suffered another blow - Arsene Wenger's team played a 3-3 draw with "Tottenham" in the London derby.
In the impressively started duel, "Arsenal" took the lead after a shot by Theo Walcott, but soon the balance was restored by Rafael van der Vaart.
Later on, Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie allowed the "Gunners" to gain a two-goal advantage, which was cut in half just before the end of the first half by a fantastic goal scored by Tomas Huddlestone.
After the break, van der Vaart converted a penalty from 11 meters and snatched a point, allowing "Tottenham" to solidify their fifth place in the standings with 54 points. Meanwhile, "Arsenal" dropped to third place and is six points behind "Man Utd" with five games remaining.
London's "Chelsea" moved up to second place, easily defeating "Birmingham" 3-1.
