Legendary Dutch footballer Johan Cruyff believes that Real Madrid's victory in the King's Cup tournament can have a positive impact on the team before the Champions League semi-final between clubs.
On Wednesday, the fiercest rivals will begin their battle for a place in the most prestigious tournament final on the Old Continent.
"Perhaps, at the moment, 'Real' is in better sporting form, however, if the Madrid team feels the same, 'Barcelona' will benefit," Cruyff pondered in "El Periodico de Catalunya."
"In any case, 'Barca' is better. If I'm wrong, 'Real' would be closer to the title of Spanish champions than they are now. The eight-point difference illustrates everything perfectly.
"What happened in the King's Cup final over 120 minutes changes nothing. 'Real' desperately needed this trophy, and 'Barcelona' now knows how to fight against opponents.
For the fans of the Catalan team, there is nothing to worry about. The tie in Madrid secured the club the title of national champions, victory was close in the final too. It is impossible to play perfectly in every game, but certainly 'Barcelona' did not suddenly become a weak team," concluded the legendary footballer.
