The club has officially confirmed today that for the remaining part of the season, the team will have to do without the striker from France F.S. Pongolle. This was revealed after a medical operation was performed on the 20-year-old player, aiming to determine the extent of damage to his injured knee.
"We hope that Florent will be ready to play again at the beginning of the next season," said a representative from Liverpool. "He will undergo another knee operation in the next two weeks."
This injury provides an opportunity for another young striker, Anthony Le Tallec, who recently returned to the club a few days ago, to establish himself as one of the most promising players in the history of English clubs.
