UEFA has started an investigation into disciplinary violations in the first Champions League semi-final match between Madrid and Barcelona clubs.

The match, which took place in the Spanish capital, was full of heated moments for the entire 90 minutes, with referee Wolfgang Stark having to show two red cards - one to Barcelona goalkeeper Pinto sitting on the bench and one to Real Madrid defender Pepe for a foul on Dani Alves.

In addition, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho was sent off to the stands.

Real Madrid is being accused of Pepe's red card, as well as Mourinho's expulsion, throwing of pyrotechnic devices onto the field, invading the field, and scandalous statements made by Mourinho in the media.

At the same time, Barcelona club faces sanctions due to Pinto's red card.
