France goes to war: too many black and Arab origin footballers in the country? © EuroFootball.com

French football leaders have started to implement a program officially not disclosed to the public, aimed at reducing the number of black and Arab origin footballers.

The influential portal "Mediapart" reports that the top officials of the country's federation (FFF) and the national team coach Laurent Blanc agreed that the number of players of these races cannot exceed 30 percent. Such instructions were allegedly already sent to representatives from all regions.

"The issue is resolved: there are too many black and Arab players in French football, and not enough white players," the statement said. "Therefore, unofficial discriminatory quotas will be introduced in training centers and schools."

Among the problematic issues mentioned were players with dual citizenship.

However, both FFF and Blanc denied these reports.

"Blanc is shocked by such accusations, as he has never acknowledged any forms of discrimination. Such a proposal would definitely not be supported," the team's statement said.
