The forward from Lithuania could soon find himself in the team. The club's management unambiguously hinted that they would like to see the Lithuanian forward among their ranks. The player could replace the Brazilian star and Dutchman Marc Overmars. According to club representatives, these players may not be with the team next season.
Barcelona's president Joan Laporta claims that interest in Jankauskas arose after the Portuguese Cup semi-final match against Braga, where the Lithuanian forward helped secure a victory by scoring 3 goals.
"We need a player like him. Edgaras also performed well in the UEFA Champions League. He would be a good addition to our team," Laporta said, adding later that "April 1st is a great day to look for new players."
