On Saturday in the English Premier League, the XXXV round matches were played.
Controversial goals from Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou allowed Chelsea to secure a crucial victory at home in the London derby against Tottenham with a score of 2-1.
In the 19th minute, the visitors took the lead when midfielder Sandro sent the ball into the net with a great shot from a distance.
However, just before halftime, Chelsea restored balance - after a long-range shot by Lampard, goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes failed to grab the ball in his usual style, allowing it to roll into the goal. However, the video footage raises doubts whether the whole ball crossed the goal line before the Brazilian caught it.
When it seemed like the match would end in a draw, in the 89th minute Salomon Kalou directed the ball into the net after an inaccurate shot by Didier Drogba. Once again, there were disputes as Kalou may have been offside.
This victory allowed Chelsea (70 points) to reduce the gap from the leader Manchester United (73 points) to three points, who will play against London Arsenal on Sunday. Meanwhile, Tottenham occupies fifth place with 55 points.
