Delneri: We will seek victory in Rome © EuroFootball.com

During a press conference held in Turin on the eve of the match against "Lazio", Turin coach Luigi Delneri emphasized that his team will aim for victory against the Rome team.

The 'Old Lady' strategist also noted that the last-minute victory against "Catania" in the previous round of the Italian championship had become a thing of the past.

"The trip to Rome would be more pleasant if we had two more points in our account," the strategist said. "However, we cannot afford to think about it. We have been sweating all week and tomorrow on the pitch we will give it our all."

Delneri is convinced that tomorrow's opponents, "Juventus", are playing very well and it will be difficult to beat them.

"This season 'Lazio' is playing very well and fighting for a place in the Champions League. We must go to the capital with the mindset that we will fight for three points."

Due to the team's failures under the magnifying glass, the coach received strong support from the team veterans - Gianluigi Buffon and Alessandro Del Piero.

Yesterday, club president Andrea Agnelli visited the "Juventus" training session and spoke with players and coaches.

"The president always demands victories, so we try our best to fulfill this desire in the end," Delneri said.

Delneri dispelled any doubts regarding injured players. Claudio Marchisio will not be able to play tomorrow due to a knock suffered in the match against "Catania". However, Felipe Melo, who has been resting for almost a week, will be able to take the field.

"Marchisio is recovering from the knock he received in the match against 'Catania'. Melo rested all week because I wanted to prepare him for this match," said Delneri.

It is still unclear whether Giorgio Chiellini, the "Juventus" defender who has recovered from an injury, will be sent onto the field from the first minutes tomorrow, but the starting pair of attackers is clear.

"Matri and Del Piero will play in attack, there will be no changes there," Delneri stated.
