Munich officially confirmed that they have extended the contract with goalkeeper Hans Jorg Butt for another year, while young goalkeeper Thomas Kraft, who plays in the same position, will leave the club.
According to reports, Butt, whose contract was set to expire in June, will stay until the summer of 2012.
Meanwhile, Kraft, who will soon become a free agent, will be allowed to leave.
22-year-old Kraft took over the role of Bayern's main goalkeeper after the new year, but some major mistakes and the dismissal of coach Louis van Gaal brought Butt back to the field.
Bayern plans to acquire Schalke star Manuel Neuer in the summer.
