Due to the racism scandal that shocked French football, the head coach of the national team Laurent Blanc may resign from his position.
A few days ago, reports emerged that Blanc had participated in an unofficial decision by football leaders to introduce racist quotas in academies. These quotas would aim to decrease the number of players of black and Arab origin in the country's championships and national team.
Initially, Blanc denied knowing anything about it, but later a recording surfaced with controversial statements made by the coach.
"I admit that some of my statements, taken out of context, may be misunderstood. I apologize if I offended anyone. However, I cannot agree with accusations of racism or xenophobia," Blanc said.
It is said that even the country's president, Nicolas Sarcozy, is urging the coach to stay in his position.
