In the English "Premier" League on Sunday, two matches were played.
The last hopes of London's "Arsenal" to fight for the country's championship title collapsed - Arsene Wenger's pupils lost 1-3 to the "Stoke" team celebrating a deserved victory.
Kenwyne Jones sent the ball into the net in the first half after Jermaine Pennant's pass, and a little later Pennant himself outwitted the opponents' goalkeeper with a precise shot.
Robin van Persie brought hope back to the visitors in the 81st minute, but it was soon destroyed by Jonathan Walters.
Theoretically, "Arsenal" can still take first place, but "Man Utd" only needs to win one point in the remaining three matches to take away this opportunity.
