The London club has terminated the contract with head coach Avram Grant.
The decision was made after Sunday's match against Wigan, which the capital team lost 2-3 and thus lost hopes of remaining in the English Premier League.
In the last season-defining match against Sunderland, the team will be led by one of the coaches, Kevin Keen.
Grant took over at West Ham last summer, replacing Gianfranco Zola. He signed a four-year contract, but the start of the season did not promise anything good - there were four consecutive losses.
West Ham will not rise from the last 20th place. The club's leaders earlier assured that some of the best footballers will leave the team if they drop to the second division.
