The club signed new one-year contracts with defender Alessandro Nesta and forward Filippo Inzaghi.

The veterans' previous contracts were set to expire in June, so they would have become free agents.

It was said that 35-year-old Nesta, who has been plagued by injuries, may decide to hang up his boots, but a different decision was made. Meanwhile, 37-year-old Inzaghi missed a large part of this season due to a knee injury, but decided to continue playing for another season.

On Tuesday, three more players were linked with AC Milan: defender Thiago Silva signed a long-term contract, while veterans Mark van Bommel and Flavio Roma will remain with the team for another year.
