Midfielder Claudio Marchisio of Turin and the Italian national team has extended his contract with the club until 2016.
Today, in front of the cameras of the official Juventus TV channel, Marchisio put his signature on the new contract, which includes an annual salary of around one and a half million euros with bonuses for titles won.
After signing the new contract, the 25-year-old footballer could not hide his happiness.
"This is an important day for me. I dedicate it to my family, who has always supported me," Marchisio stated.
"My path and Juventus' crossed in 1993. I am glad that we will continue to be one family. There were talks that I could leave the 'old lady', but neither I nor the club even considered such a possibility.
I am happy because I know that the club trusts me, so I will do my best to help Juve fight for titles. My biggest dream is to win trophies as soon as possible... I want to achieve this dream for our fans, as they have always been by our side and deserve it."
The sporting director of the Turin team, Giuseppe Marotta, did not hesitate to praise the Italian national team player.
"We are delighted to renew the contract because Marchisio is important to the team. He grew up wearing the black and white jersey. Juventus is in his blood. Marchisio's professionalism and attachment to the club are key elements that will help us achieve our goals and delight the club's fans."
New economic adjustments were introduced into the Italian's contract, which will determine the player's salary.
"We live in a fast-changing world. The new contract is no exception, as it includes new points according to which the player's salary will be changed based on his performance," Marotta said.
When asked about the contract adjustments, Marchisio just smiled and did not say anything.
