Fabio Quagliarella gave an interview to the Italian news agency "Sky Sport Italia", where he criticized his former club and promised to return to the field in July.
The striker, who had an excellent first half of the season, suffered a serious knee injury in a match against "Parma" on January 6 and still cannot play at full strength.
"I felt a kind of click in my knee and it was immediately clear that the injury would be serious.
Due to the injury, I couldn't blame anyone, as no one fouled me. The first two months after the surgery were very difficult.
Every day, I had to do the same exercises for six hours - it drove me crazy. When you're used to running everywhere at a speed of 1000 kilometers per hour, it's not easy to suddenly stop and barely move.
It was wonderful to return to the changing room where my teammates were getting ready for the games. I have fully recovered, but I am not yet physically strong enough, so after consulting with the doctors, I decided to return to the field in July, when preparations for the next season will begin. I can't wait!"
Last summer, there was tension between Quagliarella and the "Napoli" board. The striker was even accused of betrayal when he moved to Turin.
"This season, "Napoli" really surprised me and they deserve praise for securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League. However, last summer there were many lies circulating about me.
