Denilson: tired of not fighting for trophies, so I'm leaving "Arsenal" © EuroFootball.com

Brazil's Denilson unexpectedly announced that he wants to leave the London club this summer.

The 23-year-old footballer has been representing the English team since 2006 and has played over 150 matches. The main reason for his desire for change is the goal of winning trophies, as Arsenal has been trophyless for the past six years.

"It was the worst season of my life, I am very sad and disappointed," Denilson told The Sun. "I am a winner, I came to win trophies, but in five years I haven't won any.

A professional career ends very quickly, so it's time for me to leave. It wasn't a rushed decision - I made it eight months ago. I got tired of coming home disappointed. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to distract the team during the season and cause scenes. Coach Arsene Wenger has already agreed to my choice."
