The club has acquired the goalkeeper Diego Alves from the second division team "Almeria" in Spain, following their relegation based on capability.

The 25-year-old footballer has signed a four-year contract and is likely to replace the veteran Cesar Sanchez, who is of interest to "Villarreal".

Brazilian Alves arrived in Spain in 2007 from "Atletico Mineiro". Interestingly, at that time, the current "Valencia" coach Unai Emery was at the helm of "Almeria", before moving to Valencia in 2008.

"Playing in such a powerful club and testing my strength in the Champions League will be a true dream come true," said the goalkeeper.
