Didier Deschamps confirmed on Monday that he will continue to lead the club next season and has extended his contract for another two years.
Rumors that the Frenchman could leave and were interested in London's Chelsea and Roma were not true. Deschamps will remain with the team at least until 2014.
"I have decided to continue my adventure with Marseille and stay for a long time, so I have extended my contract," the coach said. "I know the exact financial possibilities, so I can build the strongest team possible."
In the French championship, Marseille failed to defend their title and finished in second place behind the Lille club.
