The club intends to conclude negotiations in the near future and acquire English midfielder Jordan Henderson for more than 20 million euros.
It is expected that the signatures will be put until Wednesday, when the footballer will leave for the England U21 national team camp.
Liverpool currently offers 18 million euros for Henderson, who plays in central and right-back positions, but Sunderland is not willing to lower their requested sum of 22.5 million euros. Nevertheless, it is almost certain that a compromise will be reached.
Manchester United also showed interest in Henderson, but Sir Alex Ferguson decided to focus on other players.
Meanwhile, Liverpool also intends to try to acquire young Ipswich striker Connor Wickham and Blackburn defender Phil Jones.
