Football director Damien Comolli insists that the acquisition of Jordan Henderson is just the beginning of summer spending.
Liverpool team bought the England Under-21 national team member for more than 20 million euros, but they do not plan to stop there.
"We wanted the first purchase to be early. The sooner, the better, because then we can adjust the transfer strategy or decide that we will not do anything else - but we definitely rejected this option!" said Comolli.
He continued: "We are very satisfied because Jordan was one of the main targets. In general, if a footballer is British, English, or has played in the Premier League, they will have an advantage over a foreigner."
