Marius Stankevičius does not intend to play again in the Italian "Serie B" championship and may end up at the Spanish club "Real Betis" in Seville.
The Lithuanian national team defender has a valid contract for another year with Genoa's "Sampdoria", but the team has dropped out of the Italian top league.
"The Genoa team needs to understand that Marius, playing for the Lithuanian national team, cannot take a step back. So we need to reach a common agreement," - said Stankevičius' agent Graziano Battistini to the Italian media.
"Real Betis" is very interested in him, but we need to wait and be patient. This option would be very good, as the club has deep traditions, passionate fans, and besides, Marius knows Seville very well."
In the 2009-2010 season, Stankevičius wore the "Sevilla" shirt, and last season represented the team of "Valencia". However, the latter did not take advantage of the opportunity to offer him a long-term contract.
Let's remind that "Real Betis" won the Spanish second division championship and will return to the elite division for the next season.
