Esteban Granero promises to stay at the Madrid club and try to convince coach Jose Mourinho that he deserves a place on the field.
Last season, the 23-year-old footballer appeared in the starting lineup only nine times, so he was linked with a move to another team.
However, Granero rejects such talk: "I am staying here because I believe in my abilities. My contract is valid for another two years, I trust both the club and the coach.
"Mourinho helped me become a better player - I am grateful for that. He is a specialist who gets everything possible out of players and makes them better."
He added: "We are confident that next season will be successful for us, because the gap from the Barcelona club is not as big as some may think."
