One of the underdogs of the Spanish "La Liga" championship, Santander's "Racing," has dismissed head coach Lucas Alcaraz, who will be temporarily replaced by his assistant Nandas Yosu for the next matches.
In the last 12 games, they have only won once, and the final "straw" that broke the club's leaders' patience was a 1-2 defeat on Sunday against "Villarreal," leaving the team in third place from the bottom of the league table.
The 38-year-old Alcaraz moved to Santander in July 2003 after three years with "Recreativo." Last season, the "Racing" team finished 17th in the league and barely avoided relegation, but currently they are struggling - with only 22 points from 22 games, they are in 18th place.
