Despite the fact that the club where Lithuanian Marius Stankevičius plays recently showed confidence in the team's coach Giovanni De Biasi, on Tuesday it was officially announced that the coach has been fired.
On Sunday, "Brescia" lost to "Udinese" and with only 20 points in 23 matches, they now occupy second to last place in the standings of the Italian championship and are in the relegation zone.
The 48-year-old De Biasi was able to lead "Modena" from the third division to the top division in his previous career, and he became the coach of "Brescia" in the summer of 2003. Last season, he managed to keep the club among the mid-table teams, but after the departure of the legendary Roberto Baggio, things started going downhill.
At the start of the season, "Brescia" did quite well, but in the past two months they haven't won a single game, which did not satisfy the club's management, leading to the decision to part ways with De Biasi, who will likely be replaced by A. Cavasinas or A. Malesani.
By the way, this season "Brescia" finally cemented the Lithuanian national team defender in their starting lineup, who has already played 19 matches in the "Serie A" league this season and only missed four games.
