They rejected the club's offer for striker Giuseppe Rossi.
According to Italian agent Federico Pastorello, the Spanish champions offered a lower amount than "Villarreal" expects to receive.
"We know that an offer was made, but 'Villarreal' considered it insufficient," Pastorello told "La Graderia" newspaper. "We haven't talked to anyone for about a week. Clubs are negotiating, so we are waiting for the results."
It is said that Rossi, who scored eighteen goals in 36 matches in the Spanish championship, is valued at 30 million euros.
