The club shook the Italian football scene by announcing that they had signed a contract with Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu.
Earlier this week, Chechen team officials confirmed that they had made an offer to the Romanian, but the negotiations broke down.
However, on Thursday the deal was completed, although the amount paid for the footballer is not disclosed.
"I am looking forward to this move eagerly and I cannot wait to start a new adventure," Mutu said. "I am thrilled to be part of an ambitious project."
In the Italian championship, Mutu scored four goals in 20 matches, while Cesena finished in 15th place in the league table.
